I did this for another server and it says completed successfully but when i went back to softwares some scripts are not installed.

I really do not know what's wrong because i kept on updating but some scripts are not being updated like all the scripts in Calendars, Gaming, Mails, Polls and Surveys, Project Management, E-Commerce, Guest Books, Customer Support, Music, Others.

Is there a better way of updating the scripts by using SSH?

yes you can run cron. For cpanel:
/usr/bin/php /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/cron.php

For Direct Admin:
/usr/bin/php /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/cron.php

I already did this but when I go to whm->software->update i am still seeing the scripts not marked as installed. What can be wrong?

I don't know why the others are not being checked. I think that is the problem why the other scripts are not being installed :(

All must be checked if you want all software

are you referring to the "Installed" check boxes?

softaculous defaulted the checkboxes as checked after they are installed successfully

Ok it worked. I checked the installed checkboxes and ran the update in WHM.

My question, if I want to use CRON to install these scripts instead of whm, how can i do that? there is no checkboxes in cron/SSH

Sir Cron is enabled by default.
The software you check here are the ones that will be maintained by the Cron an also when you Update Manually.

Yes that's correct. What I was trying to say was unless I check it in WHM and click on "Update", cron will not work, is that correct? Meaning I will really have to go to WHM and click the scripts and click on Update button and wait for it to finish so cron will work properly, correct?

Cron is enabled when you install Softaculous.
So its enabled by default.
The fact that you had current scripts when you manually updated shows cron was working properly.

Im sorry for the confusion but I don't think Im understood.

Yes it is enabled by default but if there is no check in WHM->SOFTWARE->UPDATES then cron will not install the scripts hence it is only updating softaculous version and not any script. So I had to go to whm->software->update to put check marks to the scripts and hit on Update button so next time the cron run it will be correct. My question, is there any other workaround without me having to go to whm->software->update and put check marks on the scripts?

Once you put the check marks it is saved.
So you wont have to again check it. You can in this way select only the scripts you want.

Sir just go to WHM -> Softaculous -> Software and click on Update Settings
