We have been made aware that anyone accessing their softaculous installer from cpanel is logged in as one specific client on the server instead of using their own cpanel username

this inturn screws any installations as it tries to create databases under the wrong account username

what on earth could be wrong here?

Running cPanel 11.24.4-C37008 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9 on centos 5 with PHP 5.2.9, suphp and suhosin on an apache 2.2.11 install

The softaculous auto installer uses cPanels inbuilt API which gives the username.
We can check it but please make a demo account and PM me the details.
We will look into it ASAP

cPanel behaves weird sometimes.
Hence please use this file that i have attached and update it in
/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/enduser/

This will solve the problem

Has this file been included in the latest update? Cause I'm having the same problem, and I'm sure other people would as well.

Yes
This issue particularly arises when you convert from some other Panel to cPanel.
The cPanel guys have known this bug but have no fix.
Instead they have provided an alternate to the variable of the Username by providing another username variable.

We have updated the same.

You havent even complained about this problem everywhere!
