Hi

I am a newby and don't know what I am talking about  :squi:

Since using PHP7 on my WHMCS site, I am getting error messages on the login screen. See attached images.

My Hosting company says I had to contact WHMCS. I did and they say blah blah below . No body seems to be really understand or fix the issue. So back to my Hosting provider and they said I had to contact you. I have includes some of the conversation below and se if you make any sense.

In my case all I want is it to work. Any help is greatly appreciated

In phpinfo, Ioncube is loading correctly.

Hosting response:

It is recommended to check with WHMCS support directly regarding the error. If you need any assistance in changing/adding php settings/modules, please update ticket and we can add it for you.

WHMCS Response:
"Thank you for contacting WHMCS!
The Oops error is a placeholder page that indicates a PHP Fatal Error is occurring as described in the documentation at: LINK CAN"T BE POSTED
Detailed errors are hidden by default as they can contain sensitive information. On enabling Display Errors as per LINK CAN"T BE POSTED and navigating to your admin area I see the following error output to the screen :
Whoops\Exception\ErrorException: The file /home/shopping/public_html/members/includes/hooks/softaculous.php was encoded by the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.3 and cannot run under PHP 7.0.
Please ask the provider of the script to provide a version encoded with the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.6. in Unknown:0
Stack trace:

0 /home/shopping/public_html/members/vendor/whmcs/whmcs-foundation/lib/Utility/Error/Run.php(0): WHMCS\Utility\Error\Run->handleError(16, 'The file /home/...', 'Unknown', 0)

This issue is being caused by the softaculous module and hooks that have been added to your installation.
You will need to contact the module developer to get a newer version that is encoded with the latest ionCube loaders that work with PHP 7."

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

We do have files encoded with PHP 7 as well.

If you are using PHP 7.0.x please download the following file :
http://files.softaculous.com/autoinstall56.zip
and upload the softaculous.php from the package to your server at :
/home/shopping/public_html/members/includes/hooks/softaculous.php

If you are using PHP 7.1.x please download the following file :
http://files.softaculous.com/autoinstall71.zip

Do let us know if you still face the issue.

Hi

Problem has not gone away.  I did follow your instructions.

As per your instructions I unzipped the file.

There were 3 files.
softaculous.php
softaculous_debug.php
softaculous_extra.php

You asked me to upload only 'softaculous.php'
First I renamed the existing 'softaculous.php'  and uploaded the new one.
Nothing changed. Refreshed browser etc.

I then renamed my old files and upload the 3 new files. Still same error message.

I now have taken off PHP7 and reverted back to 5.6

Any advise please?

Hi,

Was the extension still .php ?

If yes please rename it to .php.bak because WHMCS includes all the PHP files in the hooks folder so it will include both the new and the old file hence you issue would not be resolved.

Either rename the old file to .php.bak or simply delete it and then place the new file.

Let us know if you still face the issue.
