Topic : WHM Change Username doesn't fully work

Does this sound like a potential bug?

Home »Account Information »List Accounts

When you click modify account, I don't think it works for the auto script installed applications like WordPress... and if it does, maybe it doesn't work for the addon domains, and just the primary domains.

Hi,

The "Modify Account" option in WHM is for changing the cPanel username and it will not change the username of any of the scripts installed.

I understand. Do you think the Softaculous team would consider adding another feature? So for example, after successful rename inside WHM the auto-installed scripts by Softaculous are renamed as well as the database names and what not.

I just think that'll make Softaculous even better, don't you?

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion.

Are you referring to renaming the database name prefix in cPanel as well i.e. renaming the database name in MySQL or just updating it in Softaculous records ?

Also by "auto-installed scripts by Softaculous are renamed" which detail of the installation are you referring to be renamed ?

When you Softaculous Auto Install WordPress for example, it'll pre-fill database, password, etc.. and let's say a couple days later you wanna change cPanel username from WHM.

» The database credentials do not get changed.
» The Softaculous input fields are not updated.
» The WordPress database connection is broken, until manually corrected.

By having Softaculous do a proper rename on WHM username change would mean Softaculous becomes an even superior script, more high quality and does the job right.

Hi,

Thank you for the details and your suggestion.

By database credentials I assume you are referring to just the database name and the database username. The database password would not change in the case of change in WHM username.

I have forwarded the details to our scripts team so that they can check what can be done for this case.
