Topic : Script backups functions: issue - connection to database lost

Since last month I see the script backup functions in my Webuzo broken.
I asked to backup script once a week... so once a week Wordpress, Live helper chat, OsTicket script and more are backuped.

After some week the backup tool loose the connection with the database and I start to receive email with fail backups so I connect to my Webuzo and try to made a manual backup of the script and database error is showed.

For resolve this issue I need remove the script from the panel than remove all backups of the script (because once you remove a script will be labeled as removed in the backups) than import the script again and this will resolve for a month or some week and after a while the issue start to be again.

I have opened a ticket for this but I want try to see if other users is expecting the same issue.
Hope this will be fixed as is an issue of different month, started maybe in 2017.

Hi,

It seems you might have changed the database login details of your database and they were not updated in Softaculous records.

You can use the following guide to update the database details on the edit installation form. Here is the guide for the same :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/How_to_edit_an_installation

Once the details are updated in Softaculous records the auto backups should work fine.

You will not need to remove the installation/backups from Softaculous and simply updating the details will resolve the issue.

Sorry, you have asked access to my Webuzo and this is not possible also because you will be not able to find nothing as I fixed for now but issue will come back again as since 2017 I see this issue is repeating and I never change databases.

In case you face the issue again please open a support ticket with us without making the changes so that we can debug and find what is causing the issue so that you do not face the issue again.

This morning I was supported by remote Staff of you. This made me loose my time. You just say that database info was changed and put back correct database info. This is not the solution and I can do that without your remote support.

The issue is that I cannot explain how your software are able to made automatic backup last previous week and not this one where I NEVER CHANGED DATABASE INFO.

Today I just loose my time.

Extremely sorry for your time.

As per our discussion on skype, please keep a backup of the installations in which you are facing the issue and then when you face the issue again, let us know on skype itself so that we may resolve your issue.

A bug in Webuzo about this issue was found. Now I have patched my Webuzo and maybe a fix will be released in the next version of Webuzo.

Hope this issue is resolved. I will see.

Hi,

Yes it was a bug in Webuzo causing the database password to be encrypted incorrectly in Webuzo records while auto upgrading causing this issue.

This is fixed and the fix will be available in the next version of Webuzo.
