Topic : Change MYSQL password

Hi, i need your help to setup the password for MYSQL, i create a simple PHP+MYSQL program but i need to set up the password for MYSQL and root user.. How can i do this? Is there an online FAQS or an online guide? This to avoid posting simple question like this one ;)

P.S.: i put my project inside the "www" directory of AMPPS is it correct?
