In Direct Admin the files are owned by root and not admin.
Hence the CRON will work from root:
Root> php /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/cron.php]]>

The Softaculous Team has released Softaculous 2.1 .
This version fixes some bugs related to cPanel.

A list of changes:

1) The password strength of MySQL databases caused errors in some cPanel servers. This has been fixed by raising the Password strength.

2) cPanel 11.25 CURRENT was having some API problems with Softaculous. There is a change in their API for MySQL Databases. This was causing some problems on servers who had upgraded to 11.25.0. Although 11.25.0 is not STABLE and has bugs Softaculous 2.1 will now work properly on it.

3) Better Integration Module for other Panels. (You can expect newer panels with Softaculous soon!)

Regards,
The Softaculous Team]]>
