 How do I rename "Softaculous Apps Installer" inside cPanel?, In cPanel, under software section, I want to rename item name (4 Replies, Read 2917 times)

Can you please tell me how I can change "Softaculous Apps Installer" to something like "Softaculous Installer" or "Softaculous" or something else?

I looked in WHM but did not see in settings. Did I look to fast?

Hi,

At the moment we do not have an option in Softaculous admin panel however we will add it soon.

For now you can use the following workaround :
1. Uninstall the current plugin icon :
Code
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/uninstall_plugin /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/softaculous_plugin.tar.bz2


2. Untar the following file :
Code
/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/softaculous_plugin.tar.bz2


and edit the name and/or logo in the install.json file and make a new tar file e.g. softaculous_plugin_new.tar.bz2

3. Install the plugin icon with the new tar file :
Code
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/install_plugin /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/softaculous_plugin_new.tar.bz2

Yes this is still the only way to change the name for Softaculous icon in cPanel.
