Topic : Wordpress Install Back-up

Hi everyone, completely new on here so hoping someone can help!

Basically, I installed wordpress and selected the back-up option under a subfolder on my domain when first installing, ie it was installed under www.mysite.com/dev2015/

I have now (using ftp and WP itself) moved this install up to the root (mysite.com) yet the back-up address is showing as the old install address (/dev2015) and the back-ups fail because there is nothing there. What I want to know is if I change the location address by taking away the /dev2015 on the softaculous panel on the hosting, will that affect or break the main wordpress install in any way?

I have attached an image to show what I mean too.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

You can edit the installation and change the URL and the path as per the new location where you have moved the same.

The edit installation will update Softaculous records only and will not make any changes to your WordPress site.

Once you have updated the details the backups should also work fine.

Let us know if you still face the issue.
