Security of a server is on keep good configuration and software updated.
Seems the Plesk panel manage also by default the operative system update because security is the priority.

On Webuzo activate auto update of the operative system is an optional option that I want use to keep server updated but is this function secure?

In the story as a Webuzo client i learned that update the operative system (Centos) with yum update can create issue because Webuzo maybe is not maybe yet tested with the last stable release of the Operative System.

So... i am asking what happen if I activate this option that you give in the control panel?

I will have the risk the update do an operative system update with Webuzo are not ready for?

I really want have more info about Webuzo and how security are managed at the Operative System Level.

Why this?

With Plesk control Panel I see the panel manage also the security of the Operative System as, I suppose, is not suggest set the operative system for auto update because new updates can be not compatible with the panel and this can cause server issue.

As Webuzo is managing security of the VPS all application etc should also take care about keep the Operative System updated and secure.

Actually this option is turned off by default this maybe means Plesk users will have more security.

Also means the update process can cause issue? Why keep this option disabled by default if is a safe option?

Solution is not remove this function or keep it off but understand if Webuzo can take care in a safety way about also the operative system. This is important because if an user force operative system update this can cause issue if Webuzo is not yet tested with the last Operative System.

Webuzo should update the Operative System with the last Operative System supported version.

Also maybe will be nice and importat find info about the operative system. For example in Plesk are showed the current version of the operative system and user is informed if this is update or not. Will be useful see if update to the operative system are performed.

Currently I have auto update disabled because I need more info from Webuzo ... I want be safe so as this option has been turned off by default I am waiting to know more or I am asking to try to improve this.

In those day has been discovered vulnerability on all device Meltdown and Spectre so it's the good occasion for asking to try to improve security also on the Operative System side.

Thanks.
