What would be the best practices for maintaining (updating packages etc.) the Webuzo / Amazon EC2 server (CentOS flavour server).

How to best do that ?

How to avoid 'breaking' the Webuzo add-ons due to to wrong updates and upgrades ?

Could you list relevant resources for us?

Thanking you for your assistance!

Sir which packages are you referring to i.e script packages or Webuzo Upgrade to a new version ?

However, you can raise a support ticket if at all you face any issues i.e Webuzo 'breaking down'.

Thank you. The Webuzo / AWS EC2 server (CentOS flavour) is an 'unmanaged' cloud server meaning we have two major categories of tasks to perform to keep our server with Webuzo up to date / patched etc.

(1) upgrading a current Webuzo to the latest (new) version

- where can we find instructions how to best do that ?

(2) the day-to-day patching of our server

Important is to understand and know which packages on the server to (not) update in order to not break the server with Webuzo ...

Generally speaking you do this manually or (?) maybe with an automatic script:

http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/rhel-centos-fedora-linux-yum-command-howto/

http://www.lifelinux.com/auto-update-centos-server-with-yum-command/

Looking at the technical information at:

http://www.webuzo.com/wiki/Install

Can we then conclude that Webuzo is fully CentOS 6 'compatible' also the Webuzo / Amazon EC2 cloud ami ?

And that we can safely use 'yum-command' ?

What about using an automatic script to update?

I am asking this as many managed hosting users are moving to Amazon EC2 and Webuzo EC2 and might be 'struggling' or 'intimidated' not fully understanding what to (not) do ...

Here is the guide for the same:
http://webuzo.com/wiki/Update_Webuzo

If you check the stable option in Auto update Webuzo in Webuzo admin panel general setting it will do the automatic update of Webuzo .

Can we then conclude that Webuzo is fully CentOS 6 'compatible' also the Webuzo / Amazon EC2 cloud ami ?

Yes, Sir Webuzo is fully CentOS 6 'compatible' also the Webuzo / Amazon EC2 cloud ami .
