Topic : ERROR: Could not determine the database prefix when staging from an existing WP install

Posted By: kibarra on January 24, 2021, 9:15 pm
I have Softaculous 5.6.4. I use  WordPress 5.6. I tried staging and cloning an existing install but I get the following error "Could not determine the database prefix". Couldn't find any recent posts about this topic. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I see that you had created a ticket with us. Here are the details from the ticket :
You are using WordPress setup where the wp-config.php file is one level about the WordPress installation directory causing this issue.

This structure is not supported at the moment in Softaculous. We will make changes in Softaculous to support this structure soon.

You also get this error if you run out of disk space!

I had the same problem when trying to set up staging using WordPress Manager but when I, instead, went to All Installations tab from the menu, the error did not return. I was able to make multiple staging so I can compare 3 different Themes.

This is strange. We will try to replicate this issue on our test servers.

Same issue. But neither do I have wp-config.php in a special location, nor does it matter how I get to the staging page. It always fails because of the prefix. It is a good hoster, everything up to date, I believe.

Hi,

Can you please go to the Edit Installation page of your source site and check if the path stored in Softaculous is correct ?
https://www.softaculous.com/docs/enduser/how-to-edit-an-installation/

If it is not correct please change it and save the details and then try to create a staging instance.

If you still face the issue please open a support ticket with us so we can check this for you :
