Topic : Resume interrupted installation option in install.sh

Posted By: optsoft on September 22, 2015, 12:45 pm
Hi,

Indian setups typically do not get continuous internet connectivity - so if the install.sh is interrupted, currently it does everything again.

However if it would just skip over steps it has completed (even some broad top-level milestones) that would save a lot of heartache.

I've tried 3 times  :-(     to get Webuzo to install on Ubuntu server 14.04. Each time, I've had to restart the installation because of internet interruption to the process.

(Or does it have to do with Ubuntu + MySQL part of the installation ? )

Please put in a check for milestones / steps for downloaded packages and skip them if they are already done.

It's really as simple as putting plain text entries in the /root/webuzo-install.log and grepping for those milestone entries and skipping over if say 3 out of 5 are done - and not doing 1, 2, 3 again.

I know this is not a revenue producing feature, so you need not treat it on priority, but if someone has some free time, please consider doing this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As shown in our installation guide here:
http://webuzo.com/wiki/Install#Installation

You can make a quick installation of Webuzo by passing the variable --install=none while installing.

This will install only Webuzo without any LAMP Stack. You can later install apps from the Apps Category in the Enduser Panel.

Thank you for your suggestion on install milestone feature. We will try to implement the same in our installation process in future.

Please let us know if you need any further information.
