Topic : Not able to delete orphaned disks unless server is rebooted

Posted By: eced77 on December 7, 2017, 2:01 pm
Hi Support,

Everytime a kvm lvm vps backup failes, it creates an orphaned disk, I trie to delete via gui, but it will not, but if I reboot server and then use gui, it will delete. A case has been opened for this issue and nobody has responded on how to fix it yet. Does anybody from support on this forum can guide me on what might be causing this issue and how to fix it.

Thanks in advance,

E

I would like an answer there as well. My disks are filling up with backups that do not delete.  The orphan disk tool will not remove them.

Hi,

Is there any existing backup process active on server ?

ps aux |grep backup

If you do not want it to be running then kill that process.
Also view the backup disk if its mounted (in-case of remote backup server)

df -Th

if its mounted then you will need to un-mount it before trying to delete the temporary backup LV.
