Hello,

I'm running AMPPS, which is very useful. However, I'm attempting to upgrade the PHP version, and when I change it on the panel, the services restart. However, going back into the AMPPS admin section shows PHP 5.3.28. I've tried manually moving php 5.4 into the php directory, restarting, and stuff like that but the PHP version never changes. It's weird cause I know it's using the /php/ directory.

Has anyone else run into this problem? I may be missing a step somewhere.

I should add, I went to the PHP Info page and it shows version 5.5.12 (logs also reflect this). However, the AMPPS admin page and softaculous still detect php 5.3.28. It's very confusiong

Hi,

Admin Section will always detect PHP version 5.3.28 now, as Softaculous always works on PHP 5.3

But, if you check PHP Info you should get a proper current active PHP version.

Great, thanks for the info. I have one concern though, certain scripts (such as Laravel) require PHP 5.4 or higher. Do I just manually create that project or can I use still use softaculous somehow?

Hi,

You can switch to any PHP version. Softaculous will always work and will always be on PHP 5.3

Hi:

Very same issue. Fully understand how to change PHP versions and PHP info showing 5.5.12 running when checked from AMPPS Home section. However, it appears that installation scripts - in my instance Moodle 2.7 - are checking against/detecting PHP version used for the AMPPS Admin Section (PHP 5.3.28). Any thoughts as to how one might get around this?
Many thanks.

Hi,

Should have pointed out that Moodle 2.7 requires PHP 5.4.4 at min. and the installation script comes to a juddering halt when it thinks 5.3.28 is running.

Hello,

I have the exact same problem of Moodle 2.7 one click install not working due to wrong version of PHP detected. Further PHP5.5 refuses to be changed to only 5.4! I am running on WIndows 7.

Is this issue fixed already or still being fixed?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Please find the attached patch and replace it with Ampps/ampps/softaculous/enduser/main/functions.php. Keep a copy of current functions.php, just in case required.

Hi,

We have enabled Laravel on AMPPS version of Linux and Mac OS X today.

Laravel in Windows requires extra steps to install(programmatically), we are checking if its possible on windows to automate.

Will keep you updated with this.

Hello, I have installed Windows 8.1 but can't seem to get the software toinstall without errors.  On a local machine, is the installation located in the Ampps directory or somewhere else.  I don't see the attachment as mentioned above for the patch for ampps I guess.

Make a new thread about installation problems. Your problem is off-topic to this thread.

You're probably just having a problem installing it all.

I think I'd recommend just going with npm and composer, especially on windows. There are packages you may need so you may as well get used to the command line tools.

Just wanted to reply here in case someone is still looking for the answer on how to change the PHP version because it took me more time than I care for to solve this.

1. Download the functions.php file and place it in the folder as suggested above.

2. This is key. If you open AMPPS and go to PHP>Change PHP Version and nothing happens and the application seems to freeze, this means that the PHP version window has opened on another monitor, just not the one you're looking at. You might have to open your monitor configuration panel and change your current monitor as secondary or if you have two monitors, keep them identified as they currently are but change the order around. This is hard to explain, but it works.

Hi,

First Stop Apache and MySQL service from the AMPPS Control Center.

In order to change PHP version please go to AMPPS Control Center -> PHP -> Change PHP Version -> Select the PHP 5.5 and Select 'Apply'

Now start the Apache and MySQL service.

After changing the above version try to upgrade phpMyAdmin and you should not face the above issue.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
