On the host server:

disk size: 681G

On the vps if I run df -h
[root@backupza /]# df -h

You will see used space on the vps is only 441G

May I know how are you checking the disk size ?
Can you execute "du -sh " and "qemu-img info "and provide us the output ?

It will consume only the space occupied by the data inside the VPS, for example if the VPS size is 500GB and the data inside the VPS is of 50GB, then .raw file will consume only 50GB and will grow as the data will be added to the VPS.
