Topic : index.html problem

Folks,

Due to some confusion on my part - I had several home.html pages. In sorting these out I believe I may have renamed index.html at one point.

I now have in the \public_html directory - the files that I'd expect to see.. but if I do any editing, save and publish on home.html - index.html is modified, not reflecting the changes I made to home.html - instead index.html show an empty blog entry with the message that the empty blog can be deleted.

To make index.html work right again - I have to go into home.html with a plain text editor, select ALL, then COPY.  I then go into index.html with the same plain text editor, select ALL and then PASTE (overwriting the existing code.)  When saved - index.html is the same as home.html.

The question I have is - why is index.html changed to the bizarre empty blog page every time I modify and save home.html and then publish it?

What's up with this?

njrideforthecure.org

Currently I have a redirect pointing browsers at  njrideforthecure.org/home.html - for people who wander onto the site. Just incase index.html is foobarred again.  It is an active site - and we're in the last week countdown for the site being useful (it's for a fundraiser that's over on the 11th..)

Thanks!

Hi,

It seems that the FrontPage was not set to HOME due to which the issue was being caused. I have set HOME as FrontPage by accessing SitePad > Settings > Reading.

Do let us know if you need any other information.
