You can use the Remote Import option to import your live site from a remote server :
softaculous dot com/docs/Remote_Import

I've heard that Remote Import updates all the location paths when moving wordpress to a new server, just checking if that is correct

thanks in advance

Yes Remote Import feature does update the URL, Path and any other relative data while importing to the destination server.

We are hitting a brick wall here when trying to import a phpbb forum
from one server to another.

We currently have
multiple phpbb forums on server#2 that are under separate sub-domain
names and we are trying to import them to Server#4 and place them under the same sub-domain names.

For example our primary domains Document Root  is
boot.abc.com. Therefore the server’s FTP is abc.com

Now we have a
subdomain  called xyz.com. It’s Document Root is /xyz.com

In order to access
it via FTP, we generally go to ftp.abc.com/xyx.com

Now, to access the
forum, we have to go to: ftp.abc.com/xyz.com/forum

The same thing will
go for other forums that are located on this server, such as
abc.com/lmn.com/forum.

Now, here is our
problem,

We are trying to
transfer these programs over to a new server BEFORE we transfer the
Name Servers over, therefore we can not use the https settings YET.

So, we have changed
the normal https over to http, on the existing forums until we get
them moved.

Now, when we try to
move them, we get 95% of the way there, and then it fails with not
explanation why it is failing.

We have set it up
this way.

Domain Name:
xyz.com
Protocol: FTP
FTP User name:
xxxxxx
FTP Path: xyz.com

Server Host:
ftp.abc.com
Port: 21
FTP Password:
xxxxxxxxxx
Installation
Directory:
/forum

Destination

Choose Protocol:
http://

In Directory:
(blank)
Choose Domain:
xyz.com

Now, can anyone tell
us what might be causing this transfer to fail? Thanks

Since we are trying this import using the Softaculous Import Feature, we were hoping that someone from Softaculous might be able to advise us on what we are doing wrong. Thanks
