So I created a vps with...
2 GB RAM
2 GB SWAP
512 CPU Units
4 cores.
1 Gig port speed

Running on a brand new E3-1270 v3 with 16 GB RAM and 2x 1 TB SATA drives and 1 Gig uplink.

It took an astounding.... cPanel install finished in 334 minutes and 42 seconds!

Seriously unacceptable performance. I've delete the vp and tried several times with the same results. Any clues why this is so bad?

Lol what are you talking about it's really strange. It's should be very FAST.. but also depend from disk... one of my many server is running with dual l5420 ( old cpu ) with SAS 15k.7 on RAID0  ( 400Mb / 350Mb ) master and 300 mb / 300mb vps and in a vps with 2gb of ram ( ddr2 ) and 2 core i can install cpanel in a bit.

Please check CPU%  it reccomends 10% - WE have tested it and when we do this they are reallly slow.

For this reason i have open a new topic in this forum of explantion of all these

Hi,

You can increase cpu% and then power off and power on the vps and check.
