My reason for asking was because i was thinking of upgrading to a better server, and obviously what i buy partly depends on whether i can make use of ssd's aswell as spinning rust and/or do mixed kvm/openvz hosting

It would be really great if we could use more than one vg for storage. I've currently got a server with both ssd's and hard drives, and at the moment the hard drive space is effectively wasted. In an ideal world it would be nice to be able to mix pools within a vm (i.e provide say a 10gb ssd system partition and 100gb of spinning rust).

If that proves impractical to implement, an alternative would be to have a simple storage pool dropdown box at vps creation (i.e your vps can be either hdd or ssd based but not both)
