 Contact Form Reply To address, Where to set Reply To address as the Form Field (5 Replies, Read 5711 times)

Hello,

I see back in March there was a Contact Form update that states...

"2) [Feature] Added an option to use the email provided by the users in Contact Form as Reply To email for the email that is received by the admin when any visitor submits the Contact Form. This can be configured from the SitePad Editor Contact Form widget."

I am unfortunately not finding anything that allows me to set this. By "SitePad Editor Contact Form widget"... are you referring to "Site Pad>Settings>Contact Form" in the site editor?

I have set the field that are there correctly, however I see nothing that gives me the option to choose the Senders email address as the Reply To address. Yes there is a "From" field, but that does not allow me to select anything that would be the Reply To field form the form, unless there is perhaps a code one enters?


Can someone help me with this please?

OK, I see that the update is referring to the "three dot" link on the contact form placeholder itself.

I have clicked that, I have gone to small box that pops up, I have selected the "Your Email" field in the form, and I have check marked the "Use as Reply To Email" line.


When I test the form, the emails arrive with the receiving email address in the From field (yes, I saved my changes and re-published).


So this selector does not appear to be setting the Reply To email address as the address entered in the "Your email" box on the form.


Can someone help please?

Hi,

Try refreshing the page with Ctrl + F5 to remove the cached website.

If you still face the issue then please provide us with the domain name so we can debug the issue for you?

Hello Aakash,

Thanks for your reply... all seems to be workking fine. Perhaps that solved it.

I had also misinterpreted the "From" display in the email list as being the address a Reply To would go to... however when I actually click a response to create a Reply, the clients address is indeed placed in the To line.

Glad to know your issue has been resolved.

Yes, indeed the user who submits the form his email is recorded in reply to so you can directly reply to the query.
