Firstly neither products have a board or section dedicated to them here in the forum??
Secondly I am running the free version of both products on a Wordpress website Im developing 'for a local NPO (low budget and resources).
When in the pagelayer editor there is no way or method to edit or view other Wordpress plugins such as Yoast SEO or PaidMembershipsPro etc.

Hi,

Pagelayer does not restrict any Plugin.
If you elaborate your issue, we will be able to assist you.
Also we do have post meta options if you click on the Settings Icon when in the Pagelayer editor.
