 Wordpress Management duplicate, Website is being duplicated in Wordpress Management (5 Replies, Read 12838 times)

For the last month, every time I log in to my website via WordPress Management and work on my website, the next time I login there is a duplicate installation of my website.  So two installations of the website.

I remove this installation (without removing the databases - as per my webhost recommendation) and it still comes up the next time I login. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hi thanks for getting back to me.  The issue with duplicates appearing has not happened for the last 2 days.  I removed the duplicate websites from Softaculous (without removing the databases) and it seems fine for 2 days now.

I will send a support ticket should the issue start again.

This usually happens when your hosting panel’s WordPress Management tool is mis-scanning your directories and detecting the same site twice. It’s not creating a new installation; it’s falsely identifying another copy because of leftover files, symlink issues, staging folders, or cached scan data. Removing the “duplicate” entry doesn’t fix it because the scanner keeps reading the same structure and re-adding it. You need your host to review the file paths, clear the management tool’s scan cache, and verify there are no staging, softaculous, or auto-installer directories triggering the duplication. This is a server-side indexing issue, not WordPress.
