Hi this is my first post here and first time usings linux and Ampps.
running a vm with fresh centos install. Followed the instructions for the Ampps installation. Ampps seemed to install ok but when it comes to running the application for the first time nothing happens?
I have tried to run as per the instructions but don't know what the 'Explorer' is refering to, I assumed it was 'Firefox'? so typed in the command /usr/local/ampps/Ampps and then tried,
cd /usr/local/ampps
./Ampps from the Terminal. left it for quite sometime but absolutely nothing happens,
could anyone point me in the right direction please?

Just had a thought, my centos is 64bit install and the ampps is a 32 bit install so I have installed the i686 lib files.
when I run ./Ampps I now get some feed back unfortunately though it's an error,
error while loading shared libraries: libfreetype.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory,
It seems i'm still missing i686 lib files.
I've tried yum install lib32stdc++6 but the package is not available. how is this overcome?
Thx

Sussed it, by using 'yum whatprovides abc' I was able to find the missing packages and installed them with 'yum install abc'After the application started I noticed a couple of errors in the logs referencing PHP.On reading up it was apparent they were to do with the 32 and 64 bit scenario.I now have a fully operational 32 bit install of Ampps on the 64 bit OS, Excellent!hopefully the solution to my pitfalls will help other newbies...
