Topic : Not connecting to MySQL

I have just installed Softaculous on my VPS and attempted to use it, to make sure everything is working.

When I install phpBB3, it will go through fine, but it does not actually create the database for it.

I then tried to install AEF. It says it "The MySQL Connection could not be established."

I did not see any MySQL related settings to adjust.

Is there anyway to fix this?

No support? I have tried reinstalling Softaculous, and it did not fix the problem. No matter which script is installed, the database is never actually created. Is there a reason behind this and how would I fix this? I was hoping to offer this to my free hosting clients, but I can't do that if it doesn't work properly.

I installed AEF and it worked fine:
http://soft.hostwoot.com/AEF/

phpBB Database is created but the SQL is not being imported
it means MySQL import in the BACKEND via SHELL is diabled on your server.
Please enable it and things will work immediately

I know of at least (could be more) 3 accounts on my server that it is not working properly. No matter what script, no database is created.

Then there is about 2 (could be more) that it works perfectly.

So far it seems random. Some accounts it works on, others it doesn't. Its weird.

Sorry to be a pain, but when trying to install Coppermine, the following error comes up:

The following Errors were found :

  • The MySQL Database could not be selected.

If your database name is too long this error occurs
We will be putting a CHECK for the DB Name length in 1.4 as well

Help !

It doesn't appear that these scripts are being set up properly. The variables don't appear to be populated with the proper info in the scripts.

function tep_db_connect($server = DB_SERVER, $username = DB_SERVER_USERNAME, $password = DB_SERVER_PASSWORD, $database = DB_DATABASE, $link = 'db_link') {
