Topic : New Hostname Callback to WhMCS

Posted By: MadStu on July 19, 2018, 5:50 pm
Hi, When I change a VPS hostname from the Admin Panel, the callback is sent back to WHMCS and the new hostname updates within the WHMCS database.

However, when a user changes their hostname, it does not callback.

Is it possible to turn this on somewhere?

Thanks

You mean, the user changes the hostname in enduser panel or via ssh directly?
When changed by ssh... how could the adminpanel be aware of to send the callback to WHMCS?

I mean if the user changes it from within the enduser panel (either loggign in via :4082 or by VNC through WHMCS) then it doesn't send a callback.

I hope this is an option I can enable somewhere.

Thanks.

hmm, not that I´am aware of. We do not use enduser panel but WHMCS module for the clientarea self-service.

Yes, I only give access via WHMCS also. I've had a few clients changing their hostnames and then submitting tickets when the hostname displayed in the WHMCS client area is different to what it actually is.

I edited the callback script to log each action and it simply isn't called when the client changes his own hostname. But it works perfectly when I do it from the admin panel.

I would report that as bug - or feature request  :neu:
