Softaculous

Topic : Be less invasive in the future

Hello,

We started receiving support requests from our customers about a new feature in cPanel: "Wordpress Softaculous Manager".

Our support team did not know about such a tool.

After checking, we found that Softaculous script installer, decided on its own, to activate a new function on all servers with cPanel, with a new system, the wordpress softaculous manager.

I suggest: respect the hosting companies. You have added a new system, outside Softaculous, to the servers of thousands of companies, without any warning.

You have no right to do that.

It's one thing to have a new feature inside Softaculous, it's another thing to add another function in cPanel, a new icon, a new feature, outside Softaculous.

This could even be offered in NEW Softaculous installations, but NEVER in existing installations.

Each company has its support routine, its commercial and business planning, you have put many companies in trouble.

Appearing without warning, to all customers a wordpress manager, may conflict with other services that the hosting company has.

Think about it, you have a responsibility.

Thank you.

Hi,

Extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We will make sure to evaluate such situations before releasing changes like this in future.

If you would like to disable the WordPress Manager icon immediately you can use the following command :
Code
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/cli.php --remove_wordpress_manager
