Topic : Unable to Uninstall AMPPS on Mac OS X 10.9

Posted By: rgadon107 on November 22, 2014, 10:32 pm
I am trying out a another virtual server platform on my computer (MacBook Air, OS X 10.9) and need to uninstall AMPPS.  I shut down the program, removed the icon from my dock, and moved the AMPPS folder from /Applications to the Trash.  I then attempted to empty the Trash (remove AMPPS from my machine).  I began receiving messages that the Trash could not be emptied because the Apache server httpd.conf file and a number of other files were still in use.

How to do I disable AMPPS (close all those unresponsive files) and delete is from my Trash?

Problem solved.  Apparently, I needed to shutdown my Mac to close down the Apache server.  Upon restart, I moved the AMPPS folder to the Trash, and was able to delete it.  You can close out this ticket.
