Topic : Backup Rotation Issue

Posted By: deggial on June 5, 2020, 3:50 pm
Hi there,

We have an issue where when setting Backup Rotation in Installation (Magento 2 in our case) configuration (screenshot 01) and saving (screenshot 02) it doesnt save the unlimited but changes the setting to 4 (screenshot 03)

Is this a bug or intended? We want to be able to keep more than 10 backups as we are now doing hourly backups for our client's store and 10 is not really enough :)

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

It seems the setting as unlimited backup rotation is saved correctly however on loading the page the default value selected for rotation dropdown is incorrectly selected when you have chosen Unlimited.

We have fixed this and the fix will be available in the next version of Softaculous.

Thank you for reporting this.

Thanks for the update :)

I was also wondering and I know it has been asked many times before ... is it possible to add a feature to exclude certain application folders (like cache ones) from backups?

Thanks

Hi,

We are reviewing this internally and will get back to you.

Can you please share which folders you would like to exclude ?

Actually, any folder we want to exclude. For example in our Magento 2 installation exclude pub/media/catalog/product/cache

Thanks, just updated to latest version :)
Also, is it possible to make so that Delete Backup Frequency works for auto backups stored on Google Drive.  We have Delete Backup Frequency set to 7 days and run backups once every hour but the backups older than 7 days are not being deleted from Softaculous or the Google Drive itself

Thanks
