You can think of HTML as a language for the layout of a web page. With CSS you can format your web page and Java Script you can control how you handle your web page.

With SitePad you can adjust those things in different ways and with different levels of difficulty. You have made a choice for a specific theme with the corresponding menu.

In order to answer your question, you have to describe a little more precisely what you have encountered and what you want to achieve.

I'm trying to make a comparison slider for a page on my website, currently I'm using the theme 'soft landing'

Yes it is possible to add custom html with several widgets. However, that does not mean that you can just use an existing example that you found on the internet within SitePad.

Without an example, it is difficult to understand exactly and help you with what you want to achieve.
With a lot of trial and error I manage to make custom html work. But if things go wrong, a web page that has become illegible can be the result. So you have to develop this on a test page, save and try a lot after each adjustment.
