Posted By: Irfanalam123 on July 14, 2015, 2:36 am
I restarted service BIND several times and after sometime it is getting turned off. I reinstalled BIND , still it is getting turned off. Even I reinstalled Ubuntu 14.04 x64 Minimal and 14.04 x86 Minimal several time but still it is getting turned off.
I restarted it using command also "service named restart" but still it is getting turned off.

The current configuration is
Ubuntu 14.04 x64 Minimal
256 MB RAM
256 MB VSwap
50 GB Disk Space

What is the problem ?

Well I solve this problem by Updating my Ubuntu from command line and allowing bind package maintainer version to be installed/updated

I'm having the same issue. I tried updating bind9 by the command line, didn't help. I'm also running Ubuntu 14.04. I have 1 gig memory and 30 gigs hd space.

I had this issue a few months ago, but then I changed my OS to Centos 7 and it worked fine. I prefer Ubuntu or Debian, just what I'm used to. My vps got corrupted and I reinstalled with Ubuntu, and now the bind issue has come up again. Seems to be an Ubuntu issue.

Oh, forgot to mention I upgraded my RAM and now have 2 GB, usually only about 15-17% used, so plenty of available memory.

Ohh !!! Maybe you bind installation itself is corrupted.

I suggest you remove and install it from the Webuzo Enduser Panel.

Restart the service manually for once.

You can closely monitor the bind logs to learn more about the crash (if any)
