I've read through the various posts on blank screens for the admin pages and tried a number of things.

  1. Turned off skype and MAMP Pro and rebooted.
  2. Made sure there are no httpd processes running using ps -waxl.
  3. Reset my configuration for PHP and Apache several times.
  4. Tried running the command line (and many variations): ./php/bin/php -c ./php/etc/php-5.4.ini  ampps/softaculous/enduser/install.php

I haven't made any progress getting it installed at all.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Access http://localhost/ampps/install.php

If the install.php does not exist, run Cron.

Let us know if you are still facing the issue.

Thank you.  There is no install, so I ran the cron.  Output is below.  Also, there was no etc/php.ini, so I created one using the php-5.4 version, replacing the {$path} variable with my path.

Output:
bash-3.2$ "/Applications/AMPPS/php/bin/php" -c "/Applications/AMPPS/php/etc/php.ini" "/Applications/AMPPS/ampps/softaculous/cron.php"
Site error: the file <b>/Applications/AMPPS/ampps/softaculous/cron.php</b> requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_dar_5.4.so to be installed by the site administrator.bash-3.2$

Restore Default Configuration from AMPPS Control Center -> PHP Tab -> Restore Default Configuration, instead of replacing {$path}

Then try to execute the same cron command.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I've done that multiple times, but no php.ini file is created.  Just tried it again with the same result.  I'm going to try uninstalling and re-installing from scratch.

Or just restart the application. And try restoring the file.

I removed the old copy, reinstalled from the .dmg file and the Apache Start has no result at all, except prompting me for a password.  After that clicking on Start has no output or effect.  I then went to the PHP tab and clicke Reset with no effect.  I tried Reset on the Apache config and was asked if I was sure, to which I responded Yes.  Still no result at all when trying to start Apache.

Also, clicking on the Error Log button has no effect.

Same situation as before.  No install.php exists and I get the same error output from the cron call.

Well, unless there is a suggestion I'm afraid I'll have to move on to something else.

It really is a shame.  MAMP Pro costs money, which is fine, because it works well.  Unfortunately, if there is a problem with your order they don't respond to technical support.

Here there appears to be some support even without paying for a license, which is great.  But the product installation just doesn't work, on Mac OS Mountain Lion at least.

I've lost 5 hours on this installation so far and can't afford to lose more time.  The installation for MAMP Pro took less than 10 minutes, so even paying for it another time will be more cost effective (if annoying).  Multiply that for each of the 5 users in our company and it starts to get significant.

Sir,

Do you have direct internet connection to your machine ? Because AMPPS does not support proxy yet.

Not sure that I follow the question about a proxy.  I'm doing a local install on my Mac laptop running Moutain Lion.  The server is localhost, or 127.0.0.1.  I connect to the net via a RoadRunner modem and have a LAN using a 192.168.x.x internal address scheme.

Also, I started to file a support ticket, but it is asking for server information.  My laptop is not available for ssh since it is only on the LAN and not serving to anything but itself.

Just the name and correct email address is necessary, everything else is
optional. Or you can just mail the issue at support@ampps.com

I face the same problem today with AMPPS 2.2.
The problem was caused by the loss of Internet connection somewhere between the installation process and the first run of AMPPS.
I think that without Internet connection the installation remain incomplete.
Uninstall and re-install solved the problem.
