Scripts should endorse an Auto Installer as long as they maintain security of the script and provide regular and fast updates.

Alons, I'd like to ask you this: What are you aiming to do with Softaculous, both in the near future and on long term? As your current decision says to me that you rather have Softaculous expanding slowly but with mainly premiums, instead of having lots of users and have a smaller number of premiums.

Sir we do want a wider userbase free or premium is irrespective.
As I mentioned earlier we need to respect scripts which endorse Softaculous first.

If wordpress and phpbb had endorsed Softaculous we would have definitely added them as well in the Free version.
We had approached both of them and none even made a mention of Softaculous.

Others have heartily promoted Softaculous.
We are giving A good Product (FREE Version) even then.

And as I said Softaculous is going through amazing changes that will excite everyone when these changes are implemented.

Please understand my point.

I do understand your decision. I am merely questioning it ;)

Now, of those 'other' scripts, that endorse you... Which ones are the big ones? Can you give us names? MyBB? Joomla? phpnuke evolution?


Personally, I think phpBB and Wordpress are waiting with mentioning you until they are sure that you and your auto-installer actually are stable and secure. phpBB is known for having a long reviewing period for mods for their mod database, and why is that? Because they want to be sure that their users don't install mods that they endorse, which in reality actually are rootkits or the like. Since they're serving a lot of users, they need to be careful with what they endorse or not ;)
I'm not saying that the other ones might be not responsible either, but they're serving a smaller number of users, and are more capable of having more feature releases in favor of maintenance releases.


Personally, I appreciate Softaculous. The mere reason for me questioning your decisions is to give you more opinions and try to let you think from other viewpoints, so you can ensure that you're doing the right thing.

If you want offer free and premium version is your decision, your work and your time. So, like others shareware scripts we need to accept your decision.

In my case I use DirectAdmin (shareware), Capri Skin (Shareware), Installatron (Shareware) and others monthly fees.

So, I can pay for this... It's good, It's stable, It's you offer a great support (never change this).

Your hard work have a price.

Maybe my comment cause anger in some users and sorry but it's my opinion.

The API designed was always to integrate scripts at Softaculous for all of Softaculous.
It was a guide of how a script vendor can make their script available to all.

Even in the Premium Version there is no such feature.
We will add it in the near future.

Will this feature be available in the free version as well? Since if it will be, then anyone could easily create the installation script for Wordpress or phpBB3 and what value has your premium package then? ;)

Making an installation script is not that easy as it seems to be.
Even a small error will lead to impossible results.

And this feature when added will not be in the Free Version.

Ok i have already retrieved and added the license to my client area. then what now? how can i transfer the license from the old server to the new server?

Nevermind I got it

Am i seeing this correctly? One license number can have up to 8 IPs licensed? So that means can I purchase one license number and install up to 8 servers with different ips?

No.
One license is for one server only.

Its when different IPs are present in one server.

Softaculous can distinguish between one server and many by various checks.

I have a server and I am moving. I sold my current server to someone else. My problem is softaculous is already installed in the old server. I already updated the license number of the installation to the free one and move my premium to my new server. But when i checked the old server it is still using the premium license and not the free license. How do I fix that?
