Hi,
Try the following:
Code
-Login to WHM, and go to "Softaculous - Instant Installs" under the section "Plugins".
-Click on "Softwares".
-Make sure the "Installed" box is checked for WordPress and any other software you want installed.
-Hit on the button "Update settings" and let it run until it has told you that it has finished.

I'm having this same problem, tried what was said in this thread and it didn't work.  I even unchecked it, and rechecked it, and it said wordpress needed update, and supposedly it updated and everything, but it still says "The installation package could not be found!"  Any other Ideas?

After doing the above process as soon as you click on Update Settings it will start loading files.
It shows for each software and also shows a small log while downloading the software.
On success it shows a Green Colored Success Image and on failure a Red Cross

Did you see a Green Success image or not ?

Hello, over here it happens the same. I verify the wordpress option is checked:

Software not found.....Needs Update
Deleting previous files......
Fetching Latest File......Saved the Latest File
Unzipping the files......Unzipped Successfully

However I get the OP's error message.

Any idea?.

That is exactly correct, I get the green checkmark and this:

I even updated to 1.5 and still the same problem.  But only with wordpress as far as I can see.

Seems to be a filename issue.

Rename the wordpress.zip file in the /var/softaculous/wp directory to wp.zip the installation will work fine then.

Seems the filename needs to match directory name, simple fix :)

Great software though, I'm fully supporting it and it'll be replacing my Fantastico installation for sure. Just need a converter!

Edit: However, I think the developer should fix this in a future release of softaculous.

Are you getting a "Ambigous Redirect" Mail ?

If you get a "Ambigous Redirect" Mail it means CRON is not working .

Sorry for doing a thread necromancy, however, I am having the same issues and have been searching for the answer for days now.

softaculous was installed on my VPS by my hosting provider, however, I cannot use it to actually install stuff, neither can existing installations connect to wordpress.org in order to update.

Does anyone know how to enable outgoing connections either in whm, or ssh? or is it a setting in softaculous?

The installation of version 3.6 is not done correctly.
I want to use the theme TwentyEleven but installation by Softaculous damage theme.
If I install a wordpress site manually, the TwentyEleven theme works. It is Softaculous has a bug.

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience.
In the default package of WordPress 3.6 there are only 2 themes i.e. Twenty Thirteen and Twenty Twelve. We installed the language files for Twenty Eleven but the theme files were missing. We have made the changes and updated the package not to unzip the language files of Twenty Eleven as this theme is not included in default WordPress package.

Please execute the CRON command to get the latest package :

I had the same issue and tried just about every method I could find googling this problem and nothing worked.

I had an error message in my inbox that said:
[check_cpanel_rpms] There are altered RPMs

The system detected problems with the following cPanel-provided files that the RPM controls:





    If you did not make these changes intentionally, execute the following command as the root user to correct them:

/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix

On
a hunch, I decided to run the above command and it fixed every issue I
had with recent plugins I had installed in WHM, including the
Softaculous issue when trying to install anything listed in Softaculous from cPanel.

I know how frustrating these things an be trying to troubleshoot and resolve such issues, so I hope this may help people in the future with similar problems.

So in short, simply run this command line from SSH as root:

/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix
