So I try to install XMB but it say that




The MySQL Connection could not be established.

I just installed Dotclear and it was installing without any error.

I still can't create a board using Softaculous.

Same problem here, with the exception of using a clustered DB setup for DirectAdmin.

Primary server for data + secondary server for SQL.

FY I this error has happened several times to me when installing wordpress dokuwiki and prestashop: db connexion not established, and/or could not select db.
Apparently it does not occur when very short db names are used, still this is an issue as the error is not very explicit, and on a server like ours hosting many clients we want to use longer, specific db names. Maybe a fix would help.

In cPanel this has been restricted to 7 characters now.
Hence we updated scripts which had DB names of 8 characters.
e.g. opencart became ocart
