wordpress prepropagation to live with softaculous, Is there an easy way to change a wordpress install from a pre-propagation address to live with softaculous? (3 Replies, Read 3946 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 2 Status:	Is there an easy way to change a wordpress install from a pre-propagation address to live with softaculous? I set up and developed my site with a pre-propagation address (eg: 23.45.678.901/~username) and would like to update my install to the live address (eg: sitename . com). As a bonus, I'd love it if I could update to SSL (https) while I'm at it - I already have the certificate enabled, just need all the addresses/links updated. Is there an easy way to do this? I know the hard (read: potentially messing up the site) way to do it, by find/replace and changing info in the database, but I'm betting that softaculous has a much neater and safer way to do it - I'm just not finding any clear info on what that is. I found clone and staging info, but I'm not trying to duplicate, just trying to change the existing install from one thing to the other. Help? Please and thank you!

It will duplicate your site and once you are sure your site works fine you can remove the old site. Also while Cloning you can choose the protocol as https and all the URLs that need to be updated in your WordPress installation will be updated. Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 2 Status:	Would clone make a duplicate copy of all site files and/or require installation in a folder rather than the site root to avoid conflicts? I ended up making the edits in the database due to time restraints, but I'd love to know for future reference the easiest way to do it cleanly.
