Topic : SSL/HTTPS not working

Posted By: jaketr00 on May 8, 2016, 1:35 am
To start, I am running AMPPS (4.6.7) on Mac OSX El Capitan (10.11.4).

I have looked around but cannot find a way, that works, to enable SSL/HTTPS.  I have tried enabling openssl.so, and in AMPPS admin (/ampps-admin/?act=settings) I changed the "preferred protocol" to "https ://".  But whenever I go to "https ://localhost" or "https ://127.0.0.1", it says

This site can’t be reached

localhost(127.0.0.1) unexpectedly closed the connection.

ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

(note: I added a space between "https" and the ip because I cannot post links)

Edit: The error above is from Chrome.

On Safari
Quote
Safari can't open the page "https://localhost(127.0.0.1)" because Safari can't establish a secure connection to "localhost(127.0.0.1)"

On Firefox

An error occurred during a connection to localhost(127.0.0.1). The server certificate included a public key that was too weak. (Error code: ssl_error_weak_server_cert_key)

Same problem here, and I also asked this question and never got a reply.
This SSL https .localhost .test stuff is really such a pita!
