Topic : ghost cant be installed?

Hi there, wondering if someone else is having the same problem. I did open a ticket about this and the reply was a bit odd and helpless.

I have a client who attempted to update ghost, the update failed for a reason. Then attempting to install a new fresh one is giving the error "Error installing node modules ! This generally happens due to less memory" I did open a ticket and softaculous support told me cant be installed cause it need glibc 2.7 and i have 2.5 installed, which is odd and also impossible to update as im over RH 5.x and a bit odd the ghost guys jump over something like this as most probably there are a ton of ghost installed over centos 5.x with glibc 2.5 or inferior....anyway.....we attempted then to restore the backup of the old installed version....and is not working either...is giving an error like:

[Tue Mar 10 13:24:47.283580 2015] [proxy:error] [pid 244163]
(111)Connection refused: AH00957: HTTP: attempt to connect to xx.xx.xx.xx:62775 (*) failed

[Tue Mar 10 13:24:47.283610 2015] [proxy_http:error] [pid 244163]
[client xx.xx.xx.x:49606] AH01114: HTTP: failed to make connection
to backend: blog.xx-xx-xx.com

So sounds more like a glibc or OS issue....

Anyone experiencing the same problem or ghost problems?

Any help will be great!

Thanx!

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying to your ticket.

We have resolved your Restore issue and your blog is now restored and working fine.

It looks like nodejs-sqlite3 module require GLIBC 2.14
Here is the discussion with their developer :
https://github.com/mapbox/node-sqlite3/issues/244

They recommend GLIBC 2.14+ which is currently included only with CentOS 7

We are working on the changes to install Ghost without the sqlite3 module and we are testing it. It seems to work fine even with lower versions of GLIBC. We are testing it on some more servers and will launch the updated package as soon as we have completed testing.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi,

We have updated the Ghost package to fix this issue.

Please execute the CRON command on your server to get the latest package :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/Immediate_update

Please let us know if you still face the issue.

Thank you for your patience.

Thanx! I have tested a new install and it worked, hopefully will work also with updates from old versions installed.

btw...running that cron command to sync from your server is dropping a lot of cpanel errors, is that normal?

another question...i have just installed ghost in a test directory...which installed ok, then removed it, i see everything except the directory (empty) is removed, is that normal?

Thanx!

Glad to know the issue was resolved. It will work with updates as well.

Is it possible for you to open a support ticket we will check it for you.

The folder should be removed as well. We will check this and make the required changes soon.

Thanx! Just opened a ticket about it.

HI Manuel,

Thank you for opening the support ticket with the details.

These warnings are generated by cPanel. The warning states that there are some plugins installed on your server which has corrupt dynamicui files.

We use the files generated by the install_plugin utility by cPanel (hence it does not have errors in it) to install the plugin and this is done by the CRON. When this utility detects there are corrupt dynamicui files it triggers these errors.
