Topic : ISP blocking port 25

Posted By: Elixum on October 25, 2016, 5:47 am
Hello,

I just purchased a vps with webuzo, this is the first time i try it.
I have no problem with the installation. The only thing is that emails are not sent but if arrive, it seems like my vps ISP is blocking port 25 traffic.
I have already changed the exim port to 26 but still Not sent emails.

I would like to know the configuration that I have to do.
Regards!

Hi,
seems your email settings can be wrong.

For have a working email you need configure correctly the DNS and you have to set the DNS in the correct place where this is managed so if your nameserver point to Webuzo you can use the Webuzo DNS interface, if your DNS is managed outside of Webuzo (name server who point for example in Cloudflare) you need manage DNS in CloudFlare.

You can visit the website https://www.mail-tester.com/ copyt the email address you see and try to send an email to this address than press the button in the page and see the results.

The test will show to you all issues on your email. You can do search on Google to see how to fix one by one problem.

If you want share the results you can consider to open a ticket by following signature in my post so I can try to help you but my support will be very limited on that.
When you buy a VPS with Webuzo you have to learn how to manage the VPS and setup email. It's a long process. There are also existing discussion in the forum if you try to search :)

Hope this reply help you.

I think my DNS setup is normal and well.

And also try to send the e-mail to mail-tester account and nothing, not even get the mail

Hi,
if your ISP close port 25 you can only contact them.

Also what happen when you try to send an email to the mail tester address?
Where you try to send an email from a client or via web interface? What program are you using for send email?

Maybe your client can be not well configured.
You can also do a Google search for look on how to check if your port 25 is closed.
