Sir can you let me know the owner of the folder :
/usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous

Is it root ?
OR
Is it DirectAdmin ?

Also is manual update working ?

In the meantime i've reinstalled Softaculous so the automatic update is no longer needed for me.

I ran into a few things:

Directadmin plugin.conf still says: 1.7
Needed to chmod 777 universal.php before settings are saved succesfully.

The owner of the folder was diradmin (The directadmin user).

It would be great to know how to manual update the software :)

Manual update is possible in two ways.
1) Shell :
/usr/bin/php /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/cron.php

2) Softaculous Admin Panel -> Updates (In the Top).

I guess the cron is not working because the owner is diradmin. Please make it root.

Regards,
Alons

If I understand correctly I should change the owner of cron.php from diradmin to root?

Yes, for the CRON to work properly.
Other wise manual update will also work.

I'll give it a try. Do you have some documentation on which owner folders/files should have?
cron.php should have root
/var/softaculous/ should have diradmin(is this correct?)
etc :)

/var/softaculous/ should just be readable

Rest is preferably better if ROOT.
Thats the reason we made Softaculous DirectAdmin Installation from ROOT SSH.
