Topic : ampps admin password

Hi,
I've just installed ampps.
When i try to login using:
http://localhost/ampps/index.php?act=login
http://localhost/ampps-admin/index.php?act=login
it asks for a password for user soft/root

a) what is the password for these, as i dont remember setting a password,
b) or how do i go about changing/setting a new password (for both).??

Hi,

By default there is no password for AMPPS.
You can disable the password by just deleting the following file:
path/to/AMPPS/ampps/data/passwd
Delete the passwd file and then you will not be prompted to enter the password.

You can then change the password here:
http://localhost/ampps/index.php?act=secure

Sorry for bumping this old post.
But its not letting me start topics.

I get the following error if i do so:

But i have this same error. But actually after playing with stuff for like 3-5 hours.
I did nothing but install wordpress and mediawiki. And suddenly it asked me for a password in the main AMPPS page.

I'm curious to how this setting could have been set all of a sudden without me doing anything? :??:

Hi,

You might have secured your Ampps from enduser panel. Or when you first access http://localhost.

You can remove the password from Enduser Panel -> Secure Ampps

Hello the username and Password for Ampps
localhost/phpmyadmin

User = rootpassword = mysql
I found the password by looking in the MYSQL.config file accessed through the Ampps mysql settings cog. (I had to copy and past it to word )
The user name I got from a previous post on how to reset the password, on this thread.
Ampps should make this info eisier to find or make the login automatic as other servers like XXAMP do.
hope it works for others.
