Softaculous

Topic : Moodle installation not seeing correct php version

Posted By: tompaine on October 16, 2020, 3:13 pm
I have a year-old Softaculous Moodle installation using Moodle v3.5.8. This installed OK even if it identified the php version as 7.0.33 and not 7.3.6 which is actually what is on my VPS server account. However, I can't upgrade to newer Moodle versions which need php 7.2 or higher.

I also need to install an additional Moodle instance on a different IP on the same server, and failed for the same reason. The error message says that I have php 7.0.33 (and not 7.3.6 which is actually what is there).

I want both the existing installation and an eventual new one to recognise/use the correct php, to enable me to use the latest Moodle version.

Any advice gratefully received!

Sorted. Hosting provider indicated php 7.3.6 on web server but this had not been enabled. It now has been and updates/ installations now work.
