This giving me a hard time.. reading a lot but cant get my head around. cant find what im doing wrong..

Maybe worth checking that the SQL server on your node has root access granted using the password you selected for root for MySQL user or there is a root password setup on the SQL by default there is not one.

Yes, i've checked that. i can login to mysql with correct root password.

Hi,

Pdns installer is only available for CentOS 6.
Are you installing it on CentOS 7 ?
