On the contrary, we have noticed significant engagement with this software and have been getting little to no support inquiries regarding Sitepad.
Would be nice, though, if there were an owned version so that we could add further customization and not rely upon the Softaculous repository of files. Additionally, the current method of connecting to Softaculous servers each time a client is using the Editor interface could potentially become a resource bottleneck on busier servers if client interactions continue to trend upward. ----------------------- Rad Web Hosting - Dallas, TX | Phoenix, AZ KVM VPS - Dedicated Servers - Colocation |

Nexterra,
It would seem as though your clients could use a service in-between their websites and your hosting service, such as a web development agency. In this case, the Sitepad software is probably not right for your business, nor is any other "do-it-yourself" site builder. You could probably significantly increase the utility your brand provides to these types of clients by partnering with an agency that provides web design, development services, and offering these professional services alongside the web hosting service. I would imagine your monthly billing for these clients would favor you a lot better than an instant-website, self-service SaaS. The clients with which we have targeted with this service were all known to have some level of experience in website administration, development, or other digital services. Given the vast differences between your white-collar offline professionals and our web-proficient digitally-versed user base, there is no wonder we are experiencing such different results with the same software. Regarding posting the end-results of our clients' work, we do respect our users' privacy and will not post any of their information online. I did start playing with an old web hosting domain for kicks, but please do not base your opinion of this software on this website, as I spent a very minimal 10 minutes using it and have no creative skills to speak of http://mrhostingspace.com ----------------------- Rad Web Hosting - Dallas, TX | Phoenix, AZ KVM VPS - Dedicated Servers - Colocation |

Quote From : Nexxterra August 24, 2017, 1:47 pm radwebhosting, this is the very reason I started this discussion and the poll.
The majority of our clients are end site owners, NOT designers, resellers and hosts, therefore, we find that the Lawyers, veterinarians, painters, artists and others, tend to be less technical and require a very steep learning curve... additionally, they do not have the time or desire to learn as this will never be something they feel they will need often. We have had a number of people have us change their nameservers to Wix and other sites after they tried this. Hi, Is it possible for you to post what are the difficult areas your users are facing ? Is it the editor or the page manager, etc ? That feedback will help us improve. Regards ----------------------- For immediate support please email us at our Support email address. Quote Additionally, the current method of connecting to Softaculous servers each time a client is using the Editor interface could potentially become a resource bottleneck on busier servers if client interactions continue to trend upward. You can be rest assured we will be adding more editor servers when need be. Our current servers are powerful enough to handle the several thousands of more users. Once the servers are utilized to 80% of capacity we will be adding new editor servers. ----------------------- Webuzo - Multi User Hosting Control Panel AMPPS - Best WordPress/PHP/MySQL development tool |

I agree that SitePad it not as intuitive as the SAAS tools mentioned above.
1) the translation to French isn't complete about 40 to 50% is currently in english. 2) the bug with needing to be able to select a new site without first having to choose a theme hasn't been completly fixed yet. How to reproduce : When you first arrive it says "You are editing example.org" and you can edit it, but once you have edited it this bar disapears and when you click on "Change site", Then on "Add" it says "You must first choose a theme". You half fixed this bug with the bar but still haven't completly fixed it. 3) A lot of the themes don't work well on wide browsers (when you expand them to 2580px large (browser on 27" iMac monitor) some themes look strange. 4) side section's button's still don't fit on buttons in side menu in French, it's better but the text still overflows to sometimes 4 lines. (grid image gallery, social network buttons and social network medias all jump to 3 or 4 lines). 5) it's gloably quite difficult to find where to edit some things. For example I enable the theme "Factory". Let's say I want to edit the default content in the header. The natural thing to do seems to be to click on it. This does nothing. Then as a more advanced user (you have already lost beginner users here) I select header in the pages list. I can now move the Mail Us @, Great Industrial and 123 Main Steet elements but when I click on them I don't see where to edit the text. After a few minutes I notice that you don't force the scroller to show and that I can scroll down to edit the text. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gg31vofkzn8x059/Screenshot%202019-02-01%2021.10.39.png?dl=1 Here again you have lost an intermediate user. I then want to change the icon, and have to search in english. I search house, find nothing, have to search home. There is no way to scroll through icons and you have to guess the correct english word. I then decide I need 4 columns at the top, not 3. I click on an existing element and try to right clik. Nothing. So I then try to resize the 3 existing without success. I then click on what looks like a duplicate button in the Service zone, it hides the service zone. and finally I notice a duplicate button in the top menu. I managed to duplicate a column, nice ! but you have to learn about that button, it's not obvious untill you have used it once. 6) Contextual menus and keyboard shortcut's are non existant. I deleted something by mistake and couldn't find how to cancel it. CTRL + Z or CMD + Z didnt' work, and I could see any undo button. I also tried right clicking multiple times and there was not right click menu. SitePad is definitely a good tool. There are alot of very nice things about it. I think it's my favourite tool among all existing cPanel WYSIWYG website creators. It feels extremely close to being great, but it's not quite there, it needs to be easier to use for beginner users. It should have almost no learning curve and everything should be obvious. |
