 Apache does not start, just installed AMPPS but Apache is not starting (9 Replies, Read 63445 times)

Just installed AMPPS ver 1.7 (build April 6/2012) - Apache does not start
Platform: win 7 64-bit SP1
Clicking on Apache -> Start: does not start ApacheThere is no Apache log fileDid not modified anything in the config file yet
What is very confusing is the AMPPS Control Center:Apache section --> Start button is activewhile the control panel below section displays:
C:/Applic/Web/Ampps

Apache Started

MySql Started

Opening a browser and with "http://localhost/" in URL  the return is:
Could not connect to remote server
Check that the address is spelled correctly, or try searching for the site.

Double-clicking on Apache Start or closing the Control Center and re-starting does not correct the problem. MySql is started.
Suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.
