The backup and restore function within my cpanel doesn't work as expected by me. It takes forever to back up a large website and the system freezes at 95% during the restore process because the load is heavy on the server. And in file manager, the file looks tiny when in fact, it is very large and space consuming on the server.

And so you know, Hostgator, my hosting VPN company, tells me I need to contact softaculous for issues.

This sounds like your server is not configured optimally or your server does not have adequate resources to handle these tasks.

What is your server configuration?

It's Apache running OS CentOS v7.9.2009 STANDARD kvm and cPanel Version 110.0.17. Should I change settings in Tweak Settings? If yes, which settings? If not in Tweak settings, where?

Can you please try to increase the memory limit from WHM -> Tweak Settings and check again ?
