I am using the 64 bit default install with the most stable version download on Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit.

When I download and install amps via sudo ./Ampps-2.3-x86_64.run
It installs and completes normally, but Apache server won't start.  It gives me the following error message.

Could not open configuration file /usr/local/ampps/apache/conf/httpd.conf: The system cannot find the file specified.

I have confirmed httpd.conf is there, and it did not work.
I even went as far as to change the permissions to 755.  Still did not work.
Then I changed httpd.conf to 777 permissions, and this again did not work.
The file is there, and in the proper directory with no settings changed except permissions I mentioned.

I also tried closing the application between these and closed down my normal apache2  service.
sudo service apache2 stop

How can I fix this?

Hi,

Try starting Apache from Terminal and let us know the output

Code
/usr/local/ampps/apache/bin/httpd -k start

Which is true there is not a python.conf file in that directory after the basic install.
