Can i get a one time license for unlimited installs/servers?

Was a bit of a surprise move, but I can fully understand your position, "free" is never taken as seriously as paid for services etc, unfortunately.

I've just upgraded to a lifetime license, for the sake of $24 it really isn't much of an issue and I could in theory keep Fantastico running if needed. I'm a student, money isn't exactly in abundance but I think this is well worth it.

Lets just hope you keep it up, thanks for the great system!

So, how do we take benefit from this offer? I have already set it up on a few VPS, and will probably install it on a few more soon. How do I get the discounted prices?

What is your aim? Trying to convince people to pay money for the project just so they can access the most-used scripts, or get as many people use it and have an extensive option available for those that wish to support your software?
If the latter, you need to at least include 2 of the most used scripts per category in the free version. For forums, phpBB3 and either SMF of MyBB.
And so on for all categories. This will make Softaculous more widely used, and once that happens there'll be more people requesting the premium version.

To be frank, though, I think that if you intend to offer a free and a premium version, you should instead of calling 'free' and 'premium', give them different names. Call the free one 'Softaculous' and give the premium one a different name (and preferable also a lay-out that looks professional but is associated with the premium version instead of free version) since those that know Softaculous, probably know it as a free service. Why? Customers can't be fooled that way if there is a clear difference between the free and the premium version. The hosts that advertise Softaculous as one of their services, advertises the 58 scripts version. The hosts that advertise the premium version, though, says they're offering more then 100 scripts. Instead of just saying 'Softaculous, an auto-installer for your favorite scripts', and leaving the customer to guess whether it is the free or the premium version.


Also, with the current setup, I wonder whether the API for creating your own auto-installers to work with Softaculous will still work in the free version. If so, how would you prevent people from just trying to mimic your installation script and offer them for free on the web, thus removing the difference. Another reason for having a different name + lay-out for the premium version.

Hi i just added my license number to the client area and it's showing up as type dedicated when in fact it's installed on a vps. Is this a known issue?
