staging WP can't login, Logging in to staging reverts to live install (5 Replies, Read 3427 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 3 Status:	I created a staging site, but when I try to login, it reverts to the LIVE site. I thought it was related to cached links in chrome, so I tried from firefox but when I login there, it just won't login and the URL reverts to the live URL. LIVE site is top folder, and staging is /wp What am I missing?

Group: Softaculous Team Post Group: Super Member Posts: 5652 Status:	Hi, Can you check the database credentials in the wp-config.php of your Staging site ? Is it the same as the live site ? This could happen if your live site's wp-config.php does not have write permissions. Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 3 Status:	It is already 644 - that was one of the first things I checked, especially since I run WordFence on the site. Hmm, could wordfence be causing a problem? Any known issues with WAFs and security plugins like that? Kat

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 3 Status:	So I deleted the staging site after checking everything and there were no issues, but then opened a ticket with support. They asked me to check some things, so I had to re-add of course, and once I did, I double checked all the files/settings, and for some reason, this time it worked. I did nothing different. No idea.
