Backups, why only 3 backups? (2 Replies, Read 1549 times)

I'm using Softaculous as provided by my hosting provider.  It seems that I'm able to install as many applications as I like but can only backup 3 of them.  This is obviously a problem.  Shouldn't we be allowed 3 backups per application installed?  What if I backup to a remote FTP server?  Am I still limited to 3 backups account wide?

I have asked my provider about this but am told it is a Softaculous limitation.

I've done some investigation using your demo site and I see that the limit on number of backups is configurable by most hosting provider and I'm now talking to them.  I would, however, like to request another option.  As it stands, the limit on the number of backups is enforced even if I use my own storage.  How does that make sense?  Could the number of backups be dependent on where the data is stored? X if I use the local system, Z if I use my own storage?

Just my thoughts.

Hi,

By default there is no restriction backups by Softaculous. Admin can restrict the number of backups allowed.

We have recently added two different settings in admin panel. One which will restrict only backups on their local server and allow backups on remote servers "Maximum backups per user (Local)". The other setting restricts backup for both remote and local locations "Maximum backups per user (Local & Remote)".
